The river was around 1.3 meters above normal level but not to coloured. 1 Barbel caught , not weighed but around 8lb. All Chub caught were small around 1lb. Dace were plentiful and could have been caught in large numbers on stick float tactics if so desired. Conditions were very wet but still a nice day to be out on the river.

Arrived to find a rising river in atrocious weather conditions. We dug in for a few hours, but only one nice Chub was caught
estimated 5lb. A lovely stretch of water, hope to return on a better day.

Only two anglers fished. Banks were wet and slippery and became a little dangerous in the bad weather.

Two barbel early on followed by a lull In proceedings until things picked up again mid afternoon. Only a handful of canoes today on a rising river and lots and lots of rain. Steep muddy slopes were treacherous and a staked out rope is essential in such conditions.
