Fished early afternoon until before dark. Barbel 5/7 chub 4+ at guesses. Lovely quiet stretch, probably not for those who aren’t happy being mobile/agile with the steep walk to/from parking and the skinny bridge. Will be back

Very exposed fishing due to the prevailing winds - we felt every bit of the forecast 50pmh winds. I blanked - my daughter saved the day by landing 3 chub and 3 barbel with a best of the day fish of 9:0. The heavy flow forced us to fish pellet under the rod top on a rising river.

River running high after rain during the week and continued to rise throughout the day. Had barbel early on in the morning using halibut pellet and ground bait in open ended feeder and the second early afternoon. Picturesque and peaceful stretch of the Wye, highly recommend.

Very sad day for my son. River was too high to fish, with only two accessible pegs. Water too fast and visibility zero. Lots of debris catching on the line and feeder.
Used lots of tried and trusted methods that he'd used on other rivers, but not a bite here on the Wye.
I feel sorry for my son, as he's been waiting ages to fish the Wye. Had I known the river would have be like this, I wouldn't have booked the day for him.
