Hard going: low, warm water. Nice beat but tricky access in places and the road noise isn't the best.

Very tough conditions with bright sunshine on a very low, clear river. Managed to find some barbel in the afternoon and landed 4 of the bites we had. All fell to flavoured 14mm pellet.

A Long slow day, but still an enjoyable one. the conditions weren't ideal the water was low the sky was clear and the sun was hot .we were unable to fish the lower half due to swimmers and families enjoying the sun. but still managed half a dozen chub and some small stuff.

Really hard going in the heat and with low water. Lovely barbel for Chris, some chub and an obligatory eel. Blank for me. Caught on lower beat.

A really hot day on what was another new beat for me. The barbel, of about 6lbs, came first cast, literally as the bait touched bottom, the quickest I have ever caught one in a session. Sadly, it turned out to be the only one of the day. I had to wait until almost sunset for another fish, this time a scale perfect chub of 4lbs 8oz. Conditions were far from perfect, high temperatures and high pressure on a low and gin clear river, on a beat I’d never fished before, so I was happy enough to catch anything at all. I did find myself wishing I’d bought my float gear though, as a moving bait might have been more effective on a day like that.
