Fished pellet feeder. Barbel was just over 11lb ( not bad for my first Wye barbel) and the biggest chub was over 6lb. River was clear and weather overcast.

A hot & sunny day with the river very low - so not surprising that there wasn't much happening beyond the odd tremble. I was fishing a halibut pelt with a feeder, looking for the barbel. If the river was more accessible, I would have roamed around a bit, but the spots you can get down to and fish are few in the summer at this place. Lovely place to be in though. The drive down and back up would probably be a bit hairy without a 4-wheel-drive outside of dry summer days :-}

The river was low and the weather hot. Just like the fishing! This was an evening session on the deeper waters downstream of the church, beyond the island. The light open feeder barely had time to settle before the accompanying luncheon meat was consumed. River fishing at its finest!
