Only fished for about 3 hours due to other commitments, but weather superb and lovely place to fish once you find the good spots! (and if you don't mind the many, many canoes passing by!) Caught 2 nice chub on pellets on a hair rig. Swim was starting to get quite lively and I'm sure if I'd stayed longer there would have been a few more caught....

Enjoyable session on a very hot weekend. Lots of canoe traffic as expected but it didn’t seem to cause too much of a problem. Several chub over 4lb and barbel averaging 5lb.

SM fished top peg in woods for 50+ chub and 5 Barbel SG fished lucky stone for 68 chub and 1 Barbel.
MH fished all 3 croys during day in first field and had 30 chub and 15 Barbel and 1 Eel.
All fish caught on pellet and specialist Boilie, with ground bait feeder tactics.
River was pretty perfect, if not slightly up on previous years. The colour dropped out as the day went on.
Very hot day, but caught constantly throughout the day.
Fownhope just keeps giving to those that put the effort and time in.
Cheers again W&U.

First time to this venue. I struggled to locate the fish to be honest. Arrived about 3pm and walked up and down the stretch. Very hot day. Baited a few swims and fished them all for next 3 hours without a knock. I settled into swim near tree line around 7:30 and had one lovely barbel at 8lb and another under 5lb on oozing pellets. Huge eel too. River looked good, bit colour and not so low. Maybe an off day or I’m doing something wrong. It’s a learning curve at new venues as always. Back in couple weeks to try again. Nice countryside and really lovely venue. The M50 being shut on way home was bit tough going.

First return to this stretch for a couple of years. Astounding change, there are now dozens of really good swims where previously access to the water was limited to the Croy and about 3 others. Weather very hot and sunny and most fish taken on the Croy in faster turbulent water but also caught Barbel and Chub in the first field at the bottom of the hill particularly after the sun dropped below the bank. The new owner has done a stunning job and we will definitely be back. It helped having a Sherpa to carry some of my gear back up the hill. It is definitely a stretch on which to travel light.

Meat proved to be the best bait although also caught on pellet.
