oh my, well how old is that beat map? From top of beat parking space , by bridge, no track as detailed. Once found followed it back towards bridge and the old 4 wheel drive track disappears and ends up foot path onto private drive. Must be ancient!
Given that what a beat, always wanted to fish this, proper mountain goat territory not for the feint hearted. Too high really at a foot to give access to the water. Be back once height suits better. 6 fish fishing softer edges of the runs.
Update the map please, only fair to anglers.

First day GAS beats above Abergavenny were really fishable at last: 1 foot on the WUF Brecon guage and 0.33m at Crickhowell. Clear water pushing through but chilly at 9 degrees. Quite a few Grannom about but were returning pregnant females from earlier days’ hatches; remarkably no Grannom hatch in the sun today before the breeze got up (and the air temperature rose to a heady 12 degrees). Saw a few solitary March Browns either side of midday - none solicited interest from fish, but I did have three on an MB emerger and dropped three others. Grrr! A hatch of olives between 1 and 2p.m. finally got a few fish rising, of which four stuck to a dark olive UB Duck’s Dun: the best 16”, a nice 1.5 pounder. Hopefully this heralds the river coming to life again: Olive Uprights, Large Brook Duns and Yellow Mays next?
