This is a beautiful stretch of the river, it could do with the odd branch removed to open up the swims a little more, but a varied and interesting venue that whilst not the most comfortable, always delights.
2 of us fished various swims below the wood for 8 Barbel between us to 9llb and 18 or 20 chub to about 4llb. The fish coming to pellet and meat.
A wonderful days fishing in this most tranquil setting.
We did witness a VERY large Otter in the middle of the river which was a bit of a worry though, I've never seen one so big. Thanks W&U as always

A good afternoon and evening with fish coming throughout. Barbel up to about 5lbs, but, as usual on this beat, most were small. I lost a much bigger fish than those landed when the hooklink was severed on an under water rock. The chub was a good size at 4-9. All on pellet and feeder.

Fantastic drive into the Courtfield Estate fishery set in the most wonderful countryside. A lot of the swims were difficult to fish in the "Meadows" with the amount of weed in the margins the river needing a good flush through.
A lot of predator action in the river with the fry and minnows under constant attack. Struggled to find the fish but another great day in beautiful surroundings thank you WAU.

Just a quick morning session. Light on bites from 1 swim. Moved and had lots of little chub bites then just before I left hooked a 6LB Barbel. Great looking fish that fought really well. Fish the inside bank with the fast water right of the tree line on the map. Lovely spot with a bit more water than a previous visit. Back there again next week to explore some more swims.
