Firstly, what a beautiful place Fownhope is. Rolling hills autumn colours in the trees and rocky pools full of fish! We made our way over 'heart attack hill' (the view and fishing is so worth it!) and both started the morning very well catching steadily all morning until just before lunchtime when the river started to rise VERY quickly! Bringing down with it constant rafts of weed and debris, rendering feeder fishing almost impossible and Putting a halt to the bites from then on for the rest of the day which was unfortunate because I'm almost sure we would have caught a lot more fish, that's fishing for you! The fish were all immaculate as per usual on the wye and I even managed somehow to catch a Gudgeon fair and square on 8mm pellet! Fantastic day however, again in beautiful surroundings and wildlife, can't wait to come back up to Hereford soon!

Not a lot happening for us today. Tried a range of methods but just one barbel caught on meat

Not the best day for fishing river very high and pushing through after all the rain lot of weed and rubbish as well unable to get to the bottom swims too dangerous we both slipped up and fell over, the slope at the end of the track by the sawned off log is treacherous to try and walk down.

Very nice fishery, swims very good and also some steps have been put it a couple of swims, which is very helpful. Fish were caught throughout the day, mainly on pellets. Dave had 12, Pete had 7 and Alan had 5 ? Very good day. Thanks

A nice day's fishing in good conditions. Nice colour in the river and rising slightly throughout the day. Between two anglers we caught eight barbel and numerous small chub. The average size of the barbel was smallish but it was good sport and I would book it again.

My fishing partner had an unfortunate accident in that his rod and reel were both pulled into the river by a passing tree branch while he reached into his bag for his flask. If anyone happens to turn up a Korum Neoteric rod + Shimano Baitrunner he would be very happy to be re-acquainted with them.
