River still very low but had a good day. Feeder and float both caught barbel and chub. Pellets and meat for hook bait. Nice stretch but not as many swims as expected along the stretch, but plenty for the two of us.

5 Barbel, 12 Chub

4 anglers fished. Plenty of small chub on the feed throughout but Barbel all from one swim.
Similar conditions to the previous Monday. Still a nice day fishing. Let’s hope for some much needed rain.

Nice 7lb 12oz barbel and chub to 4lb caught near bottom of the beat all on ledgered meat.

1 Barbel, 6 Chub

Barbel and chub caught at the back of the island under the trees on pellet. Lost a good barbel. Lots of tugs and pulls but not many strikeable bites. Fish were clearly present but cautious in the low water.

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

Not very long but varied and in de wooded part quite mysterious sphere. Altough 2 realy good grayling pools in open field meanders. Extremely low water with a lot of threadforming green algue witch in my opnion as aquatoic ecologist is not a very good sign for the future. Is mostly a sign of nitrate and phosphate concentration becoming eutrophic. At normal levels you might not notice them and then the're probably still not alarming, but when climate changes and extreem low levels become common then Lugg, Ithon and Upper Wye might suffer from growing algue and eutrophication especially in summer in slow pools. We came to Wales because the French Jurrasic streams are eutrophicated to death for trout and grayling last decade. So be aware!
