With the river starting to clear, bright conditions today made for a slow session. I fished most of the day in a high water swim in the top field that had previously proved productive, and had to work hard to catch 3 barbel up to 5lb by midday. I sat it out until the evening in this swim, but failed to get another bite. A move further downstream for the last half hour resulted in one hook pull, followed by a barbel of 7lb 11oz before i had to pack up.

What a brilliant day to end the season ! Had 2 beautiful barbel and one chub . The barbel was really special . I want to say it was 12 lb but it wasn't just a whisker under 11 lb 13 oz, my biggest barbel from the Wye ! I did get a 11lb 2 oz from Belmont in 2014! The other barbel was another good fish 8 lb 10 oz . Backed up with a chub 4lb 10 oz al on halibut flavour meat ! My son and I had a great day thank you all at the Wye and Usk foundation.

A very bright sunny warm day, which seemed to have a notable effect on the fishing.
Managed a few fish from below the rapids area all to pellet feeder with meat or mini boilies as hookbait.

River was roughly 3 feet up and pushing through very fast, tried all manner of baits but failed to catch.

Arrived at lunchtime. River looked good but was fully booked so squeezed into a swim in the meadow. Unfortunately I had no action but had the next two days to look forward to.

Looked good for a bite, sadly nothing forthcoming. Great to see someone else catch his first double though. Can recommend the Royal Spring sunday roast. Back Jun 16th.

Another stunning day on the Wye, so lucky for March.

Fished middle field and had a great day, 5 barbel in total and 5 chub, all fish caught on pellet and feeder.

Biggest barbel was 10lb 2 oz with all other between 7-9lbs.

Great to be able to park the car near the river bank, plenty of swims to choose from too.
