I fished bottom peg on roadside and caught 3 dace on float, minnows were a nuisance on all baits. Had one bite each on feeder fished pellet and corn, and no takes at all on luncheon meat. River low but peg looked promising.
MB fishing on comfy peg halfway along roadside fared better and caught chub and grayling on float, but nothing at all despite trying pellets and corn Agree we will both return to give it another try.

It was the first time we had fished Sugwas Court and it took until midway to select a swim which you could get down to the river bank. We did park in the Orchard car park and was expecting to walk onto the river but at times there was over a 40ft drop to the river and looked dangerous. Looking at the map you supplied you have stated ' Parking and access to the fishery is excellent'.
We decided to try and walk from the Orchard car park to the Bait pool only to find the path was blocked by a fallen tree so we ended up back to our original spot opposite Mill Pool. When we got there and trying to find a swim we were again disappointed to find a Car seat washed up on the bank by Pump pool.
We all came to the conclusion that more information is needed if you have not fished this stretch of river before which would of possibly saved us some time and better direction to get from one end of the stretch of river to the other.
When we eventually started to fish it took only Ten minutes to land our first Barbel which weighed 8lb 2 and looked a very healthy fish. Shortly after our second Barbel was landed, again a very healthy looking fish at just over 7lb and then two Chub one at 4lb 8oz and the second at 6lb 4oz both very healthy looking fish. All our fish were caught on pellet also using a small amount of feed.
We all still enjoyed our days fishing and were over the moon to catch some fish from the famous river Wye and we are planning another trip next year.
We also fished Lower Cannon Bridge for the next two days which again produced three Barbel and three Chub all very healthy fish and if you would like more details please let me know.
I hope my comments are not too disappointing for you regarding directions and conditions but one of our party has difficulty walking but the fishing and fish were excellent.

Fishing wise a very difficult day, must have tried 6 different swims throughout the day and never able to find any feeding barbel. The two chub came, not surprisingly in the last half hour.

A second difficult day on a very low and clear river, started in the wood and floatfished bead again hoping for a chub or two. One bite was all I could muster off a nice fish that shed the hook halfway in! I then sat trying for a barbel but no bites were forthcoming so in the afternoon a move to the top field was tried as there were no anglers on the other side again. I started o the float and bread but could not raise a bite anywhere I tried in the top field. I spent the rest of the afternoon fishing for babel in a couple of swims and eventually having just the single fish around the 5lbs mark late in the day. Feeder and pellet the method. (possibly the wrong one?)
I did remove a large amount of line off the bank that some moron had left, they had clearly stripped it off their reel and stuffed it into the grass, why? Surely it is nothing to pop it into your bag and take it home? With the number of people that walk dogs on this particular stretch it is asking for problems if this type of thing happens.

Due to conditions it was understandably slow until the last hour and a half when Stu had a 6.00 barbel followed by a 10.01 pb and I had a 9.01 just before packing up.
Good to meet up with Don on the bank who was as helpful as always.

The Creel is a very attractive beat but swims are limited by the steep and slippery banks. My pal and I agreed that we would not like to risk fishing there in the wet and great care was needed even before it started to rain, thankfully late in the day. We managed 5 barbel to 8lbs 9oz and three chub so were pleased to have had some good fishing.
