Fished early and late in the day to avoid the bright conditions and had a good day, several nice Barbel over 8 lbs along with some small ones which is always good to see. Fish were caught on legered pellet and meat. Great to see lots of wildlife in this area with plenty of Buzzards ,Red Kites and Kingfishers, also lucky enough to see an Osprey patrolling the river several times during the day. Looking forward to returning here.

Same as yesterday, tried numerous swims along the stretch but all but one barbel came from a single short deep spot where to be honest they were a bit too easy to catch. Fished float with pellets or meat and pellets on feeder.

Nice stretch very easy to find and good access to the river. Fishing was ok, livened up in the evening. Be prepared to lose tackle it’s extremely snaggy, fished the pool at the bottom of the stretch biggest fish was a barbel of 3/4lbs.

Sunny intervals; no wind. Lack of recent rain means river back on its bones but at least the water is cold. No fly hatch all day and only a couple of rising fish. No success on the oxygenated flats and riffles with a nymph. Spent a couple of hours stalking visible fish in the deeper water. Stealthy approach essential, but only got one cast at each fish. Most frustrating! Good blackberry picking on the right bank!

6 chub, largest around 4lb, 1 small barbel about 2 lb. All immaculate fish caught in a beautiful setting. Fished upper part of the beat in faster water. Agree with some of the previous comments regarding difficulty with access but I also like the wildness that brings. Thank you for the opportunity of fishing such a fantastic stretch of river.

fishing was hard only 4 chublets all day, best about one pound. About half past five I decided to change beat and target pike and finished the day with a magnificent 25 pounder on a popper.
