A hot sunny day with the river low and clear. As anyone knows when you fish this stretch on a hot summers day, don't expect a nice quiet days fishing. Apart from the usual canoes and paddle boarders, most of the local population turn up with their dogs and children and seem to be determined to interfere as much as possible with anglers fishing by swimming up and down through the anglers swims despite there being 100's of yards of unoccupied bank where they could have swam until their hearts content with out directly interfering with anglers. Apart from that, had 6 barbel up to high 7's and a few chub.
At £45.00 this stretch is very expensive so one would expect the land owner to have some control over the local population (who seem to have little respect for other river users) on his land..!

Hot and sunny day and the river was low and clear. A lot of weed and other vegetation was coming down which made keeping a line in the water for any length of time difficult. So quite pleased to end the day with 3 chub and a couple of barbel. Lost 3 or 4 others due to varying degrees of incompetence. Brother managed a couple of nice barbel.

Day spoilt by the number of canoeist that went past us in excess of 100! However when the sun went down we managed 2 barbel & an eel all on pellet & ground bait feeder.
Still, a memorable day as it was Nicks first & second ever barbel - he was well chuffed.
Thank you WUF.

River very low and clear and weather very hot. We fished from 9.00am until 7.00pm patchy throughout the day, fed for an hour or so then went dead for a period, then came back on again for an hour or two. Altogether a good day at a lovely venue, but a very long walk. Thanks to WUF.

A tricky day given the high pressure and hot conditions. I fished from 08:30 - 18:00 and adopted a roaming approach fishing about half a dozen swims towards the upper end of the fishery but only 2 produced any activity whatsoever. The beach and other swims nearby looked ideal for barbel but I couldn't tempt a bite and there weren't even any chub rattles to suggest that any fish were present. The 2 swims that did show plenty of chub activity were those either side of the boathouse and eventually the downstream one produced 2 barbel of 6-7lb and another lost fish as things started to cool off later in the day. I'm sure I could have caught more had I stayed on. As usual this stretch of the Wye looked stunning and there was plenty of wildlife to keep us interested, including leaping salmon and an inquisitive mink. The farmer also kindly gave us a lift to and from the water's edge, which makes life much easier!

I was fishing with one other and we elected to fish the bottom of the fishery with a sort of gravel beach. ideal spot. whereas the main river was low slow and sluggish, this stretch has a bit of depth and pace . I managed one small chublet, my colleague fishing a mere 30 feet away managed 6 barbel in tough, hot sunny conditions which included swimmers showing zero consideration coming right through our swims, canoes, bbq's, dogs and, for 5 minutes, somebody flying a drone right above us. but having said all that it is a beautiful spot and will return but probably not in july/aug in a hot sunny spell.

Fished until 3 p.m. on the corner just downstream from the weir but could not get a serious take. I moved up to the boat house swim and the river livened up after about 7 p.m. Hooked but lost a decent fish early evening and finally netted a 5.5 lbs chub caught on pellet around 8.30 p.m. Packed up at 8.45 p.m. Not satisfying to only catch one fish but at least not a blank. I will give Lower Canon another go next time I am down as it is a beautiful place and want to give it another go asap
