Lovely stretch of river but no fish unfortunately. River was very low and clear.

Started fishing the fast water by the island had a couple of chub, but no barbel. Moved upstream late morning and caught barbel steadily up till dark. Fantastic days fishing. All fish caught on standard ledger tactics using Elips pellets as bait.

13 Barbel, 2 Chub

Conditions seemed good. Overcast and river was up 1' with a bit of colour. Fish didn't seem to be playing ball today and only enticed 2 chub. Not a sign of barbel. Had a few hours pike fishing to but to no avail although The stretch does look perfect habitat for both species. Suppose I was due a slow one as the last two visits have been fantastic fishing although that was on different beats. 1st time I have fished this one but sure it has its days. Still better than being at work. Access is a dream but be careful not to bottom out when pulling into the field. Won't be everyone's cup of tea as banks are very "commercial". 2 Chub

2nd time on this beat and the river was even lower than in Sept, CH fished the woods for 2 chub, BT fished the croy in the 1st field and had lots of roach, I fished middle of the 1st field and lost 2 barbel. Still a very enjoyable day though.

2 Chub, 20 Other

Although the river was at a reasonable level, loads of floating weeding kept fouling our lines making fishing difficult. Tried a variety of baits from pellets to meat but really struggled for bites.

1 Barbel

Turned up for a good walk & a look, very low water, warm day. walked most of the length, jungle stick needed, a few made swims, make yours. No fish seen. will go again, needs another foot of water. Nice friendly people in the adjacent house. Just wanted to get home at the end of a long grinding week.

A tough day with bites hard to come by on feeder/leger tactics. We both caught plenty of small fish on trotting maggots, and MS caught a 4.5lb Chub and a lovely 3lb Brownie. We both worked hard with different baits and tactics, but we put our lack of success mainly down to low water levels. The Wye beautiful as ever. Just a note: the farmer has fenced off the field alongside the long row of trees and put cattle in. This means 4WD access is no longer possible down to the riverbank. Parking is available just through the gate, but a 150 yard walk required.

River lower and slower since my last visit 2 weeks ago. Tried several swims throughout the day never got a bite from anything.

Fishing slow with water so low and clear however I persevered with the pellet feeder and managed 4 barbel over the full day at the top of the fishery. Biggest at exactly 10 and 9lb came in the evening. As always delightful scenery and wildlife. Thank you WUF.

4 Barbel

Having arrived at the beat to find near perfect conditions expectations that this would be "The" day were high. With 12 Barbel landed one would think that was indeed the case,
however, with 11 of them and the Chub falling to one rod it was a tough day for the other two!! That said still a joy to be on the river, and well done Big Nige. Best fish
