Fished for 3 days before this day. Had pretty decent action for this time of year. However, on this day, it was as if the fish had completely turned off. Couldn't buy a bite.

Just the one chub. Fished the big swim at the end of the tree line about half way up the beat. Back too knackered to yomp to the better swims with faster water. Saw a Dad and Lad land the boy's first ever barbel further down the beat in the very fast channel - looked a clonker. Will travel lighter next time and maybe without my hound buddy.

Probably one of the most picturesque stretches in the river and in the past it’s given me some really decent size fish .
It can be at times hard going and is very snaggy , prepare to loose a few feeders but with the right approach and you put the work n the rewards can be awesome
Sadly no bars of gold on this occasion but a few chub did grace the net

Day 2: same swims and method as previous day but only fished the island swims from 7.15am to 11.30am.
Chub visible everywhere, some only 20ft from nearside bank. Any loose feed created a frenzy of surface action as chub flew in from every direction to battle for the offerings.
Average size was around 2.5 - 3.0lbs.
Moved swims for a break and fished on feeder from one of the croys for a couple of hours but only a few chub caught.

Fished with small pellets on the hair and light feeders fished to the shelter of the far bank willows.
Arrived late and finished early. The fish were tightly grouped.

A fantastic venue with many options. We really enjoyed our time at Caradoc.

A wonderful evenings fishing despite the hot weather. Avoided the heat of the day and started at 3pm. A large 7lbs 10 Barbel second cast set the scene and 3 more followed all around the 6lb mark, all to ledgered offerings. Thank you for the strimming - very much appreciated for preventing nettle stings on bare legs!

2 carried on fishing from the day before.
A few chub in the morning but came home mid afternoon due to the heat and the lack of swims that were available (overgrown / very steep).
As mentioned in yesterdays report, i really think this stretch could do with a bit of maintenance. None of the swims have been cut out in any way & for £25 per day, we expected better fishing conditions.

8 Chub
