Very hot! Most fish early morning on meat. The other was an eel. As ever, a beautifully kept venue. Thank you Stefan.

Beautiful day walking the river. Saw one or two little ones pop up but nothing more to report . No bites and no catches and no sightings. Tried various methods of dries and nymphs.

Weather - Hot, initially light cloud then sunny.
Water - Clear but shallow.
Population - a lot of swimmers (human thingies) upstream of the bridge and 2 snorkelling downstream beyond the exposed rocks.
Duration - 15:30 to 18:30
Location - 3 tried between 100 and 250 yards downstream of Green Bridge (South Bank)
Float fished worm trotting. Depth circa 2 to 4 feet depending on tactics.

One exceptional hit just at 14:30, just at the point of retrieving at the end of the trot. Definitely hooked (barbless size 12) but corkscrewed out of the water and dislodged the hook.

Guesstimating well over 12” long and perhaps nudging 2lb. Colour indicated Brown Trout. ????

Hope to try again tomorrow evening but a bit even later than previous afternoons.

Again we were really struggling to find fishable swims. Just about every swim was completely overgrown and unusable.

Fished well considering the hot conditions, fished from 6am till 2pm - caught chub from the off - and had three Barbel with another couple slipping the hook. Nothing massive but another lovely day in the Wye valley

Baking hot day. Managed 1 in the pool below the bridge, otherwise blank. No wind, very clear water. Moved a few fish that we down deep in the channels but sadly didn't connect.

Lovely long beat with plenty of variety and will return.
