Plenty of swims for the size of the beat but you will need to be fit and able to make the most of them. Fish caught throughout the day but most barbel came between 3pm and 6pm. Biggest fish 7lb.

Had a great day with all of us catching. All fish on pellet & feeder. Good river access & parkihg. Top advice from Colin the keeper who put us onto the fish, a charming man who it was a pleasure to meet. The barbel were from 4 to 8lb.

Feeder style fishing, using pellet and ground bait changing to meat. 4 chub on meat and 1 barbel late in session on pellet. The river was falling, windy and a few showers overcast.

Cloudy, odd light shower. River rising a fraction with a tinge of colour, plenty of weed coming through. Slow morning, a chub and an eel. Found the barbel on feeder tactics later on in day, had four, the best being 8lb 8oz. Thanks WUF.

River levels looked perfect. Tinge of colour. Pellet took the first couple of chub, maggots the other 4 as well as those pesky trout. All fish returned unharmed. A great day on a lovely stretch.

River was a foot up but going down, river running clear. Weather was warm but windy, all fish taken on caster and maggot. Could not get a bite on any other bait. Would like to fish the beat in the spring, great day for the three of us.

A really lovely stretch of water but, as seem to be the case this year, another day requiring hard work to catch some fish. We moved all day to try and find the fish and were rewarded with a barbel each and a chub. The guys on the opposite bank (sitting it out) didn't apparently catch at all so glad that we kept moving.
