Had a rather frustrating day as my 86yr old Dad wanted to come with me, meaning there was only one swim that we could get to. Still had a nice day though - I will definitely come back to fish the better swims.

Abstraction pumps were a nuisance for most of the day. Otherwise a lovely days fishing. Will visit more WUF waters in the future. Thank you.

Method of fishing was cage feeder and PVA tubing. Fish caught on pellet. When I booked the beats I asked if access to the pegs was easy, as I am a senior citizen, and was told it was. On the recommended stretch from the water works only two of the pegs were accessable to anything other than a mountain goat.

River low, on the feeder-mag. Barbel up to 2lbs, chub up to 3-4lbs and silvers. Nice to be able to drive 4x4 along beat and park behind you. Must try top end of beat looks good. You need a 4x4 in the wet!

I caught the fish on a float fished mackerel section. River was very clear. Details received from the Foundation for the beat were very accurate.

Fished the bottom swim from early afternoon until dusk. You certainly need a 4WD to drive down there but having done so it's very convenient. The barbel were on and off all the time with four landed between about 4 and 6lbs, most on halibut pellets but one on strawberry sweetcorn. Also picked up a jack pike (ca 6 lbs) on a large spoon cast towards the pillars. Another great location. Thanks again to all at WUF.

Warm and overcast day, river was at 1ft level (indicated opposite the hut where you can park). Myself and my Uncle (he caught the majority to be fair!) fished at two spots (Upper and Lower Sally's) adjacent to each other. We managed 12 Barbel ranging 2.5lb upto 7lb 2oz, along with 2 Chub around the 4lb mark. All but one caught on 8 or 10mm Halibut pellet with a feeder full of damped 3mm pellet, one Chub came to luncheon meat sent bouncing down the faster water just before the river Lugg (Pylon run).

First time on river. Fished large feeder with crumbed boilie with large boilie on hair. Fished a dozen or more swims, some of them twice as I worked my way down and back up the river.

First fish by the hut within an hour then 2 more chub mid- afternoon near to other end of beat. Perfect weather. Dull and warm. Booking office very helpful and thank you.

Arrived to find the river to be quite low and clear. Also a number of anglers on the far bank making swim selection a bit awkward. We did manage a barbel before retiring to the Greenman.

1 eel. Despite river being quite low we managed a few nice barbel up to 8.5 lbs.
Found the cows were a bit of a problem when parking in the field as alternative car park not marked very well on map and we could not find it - hence one very dirty white van needing a wash the next day.
