Very enjoyable day again and whilst the quantity wasn't there the quality was great! 2 chub approx 3lb and a brace of double figure barbel, 11lb and 10lb 3oz, sent me home with a smile on my face. All fish coming to paste wrapped pellets.

Lots of good work been done since I last visited with several more easily accessible swims now when the water is at its usual level, so looking forward to visiting again soon and roaming around a bit. Many thanks to all.

Excellent Pike fishing on a mild day. Spent 3 hours dropping into likely looking spots along the entire length of the beat. Lots of swims with ready made steps in place. Didn't have a touch, so decided to fish 3 of the more Pikey looking spots with deadbaits. Caught 3 Pike, one at 16.5lb, one at 14.5lb and a jack. Thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Lots of grayling caught on maggots, no chub or dace. Signs on gates would be a help.

Almost spring like weather today, ideal for our first visit to this beat.
After negotiating the deep water filled ruts on the track and several stiles we reached a cracking stretch of river.
Started towards the top of the stretch opposite the Weir Garden and worked down to the end of the fast water. Trotted flake and fed mashed bread. Chub were obliging, and we both caught some nice fish to just over four pounds. Most swims seemed to hold a fish or two with the deep marginal runs the most productive and easiest to fish in quite a brisk downstream wind.
Looks a good bet for a barbel or two and a return trip in search of Barbus will be on the agenda very soon.

We did not catch a thing. With regards to the fishing venue it was the first time I had been there and I have to say that I was very disappointed that most of the places you could fish on the were unfishable, the sides were so steep with little or no room at the bottom of the slope, there was only 1 place on the whole stretch that was actually fishable and had a flat section at the bottom of the slope (which is where we fished). When selecting a stretch of the Wye to fish we just went by the information on your website, however there was no mention at all of the steep slopes and limited fishing spots on your website. I would not fish at the Courtfield stretch again.

Unfortunately due to the snow overnight on thurs the river was slightly coloured with a little melt water which appeared to kill sport stone dead.
