Another enjoyable day on the Wye, 4 barbel and 4 chub landed and a few lost. Also, I would like to thank Adam the baliff(?) for recovering my landing net which I left behind in the car park. Will be back to the river soon!

Started off the day slow, ended up with 7 barbel to 9lb on chopped down boilies and groundbait. A word of warning, if you are fishing this beat in the rain take some boots with a deep grip on them as the banks are steep and very slippery. Yours truly taking a dip up to his neck...
Also this beat is a bit tackle hungry, take plenty of feeders/leads. I would advise casting more downstream than across the river as the boulders are a nightmare and the flow just bounces your rigs into them.
A day of ups and downs but one of the nicest places I have ever fished.

Our first trip to the Wye resulted in several good-sized chub in the 2-5lb bracket. No barbel unfortunately, but we'll be back.

6 mint condition chub to 4lb 4oz and 3 barbel to 7lb 3oz in the same superb condition, noticed how quickly the barbel revived in the net before release, wonder if this is due to high oxygen levels of the water, brilliant day on this wonderful river again, had the stretch to myself, thanks WUF, keep up the good work.

Fished the lower end of beat on the obvious looking barbel pegs. River was up and coloured compared to our visit a few weeks ago. Barbel feed well at the start of the day but as the colour dropped out the action slowed. We finished the day with 15 barbel and 3 chub all taken on pellets. JT was landing one of his chub and it was hit by a huge pike that jumped clear out of the water to claim its prize. It must have been a big fish as I heard the splash from a long way down stream.
