Me and my mate Chris had a fantastic day here...
He finished with 13 Barbel to about 8lb...2 chub and 2 dace.
I landed 5 barbel to about 7lb and 5 chub...all taken on feeder with pellet except one chub on trotted bread flake.
Glorious venue...I cannot wait to get back later in the summer.
Many thanks to all concerned.

A very disappointing day. We could hardly get to the river because of the overgrowth, only about 6 fishable swims in the whole mile. Lost my son twice in 8 foot high nettles. The beat needs some work doing to it.

Parked up at outside the Severn Trent complex at around 7:00 am. The river was high with a lot of debris, we knew this might be the case given the weather.
I opted to fish really close in on what they call the "New Swim". I used Elips pellets with an open feeder. In total I had 6 Barbel between 9lb and 12lb plus a 3lb Chub, most of the fish were caught before 15:00, so we left at around 19:00.
The other two rods caught 3 Barbel between 9lb and 11lb plus to around 5 Eels.
All in all a great days fishing, really enjoyed it and will return when the river is a little lower and slower running.
During the day we saw a number of very large Pike, 20lb plus laying up in the shallows, another thing to bear in mind for next time.
Hopefully I will be back very soon, thanks for all your help, very efficient.
Finally, very big thanks to Don, he helped a lot, took time to give me updates on the river levels before the day, nothing was too much trouble for him.

Arrived at the river at 8.30, River was looking good due to rain the night before, no fish showing until around 11.30 then the barbel fed through the day. I had two, one at 7lb and a nice one at 9lb 12oz, and 1 chub, losing 3 barbel (snapped late on a big fish). My uncle Brian had 1 barbel at 9lb 6oz, stunning fish, and a chub.

Lovely stretch of water. We will do better next time after locating the fish. Thanks to all at the Wye & Usk Foundation.

What a fab looking beat this is, we spent a couple of hours walking the beat as there is just too much choice, and needed to be on the Barbel, having failed on opening day.
And found them we did, 15 between 2 rods and 30 odd Chub.
Brilliant, we have already re booked for Sept.

My son booked this beat for us so that I could try and catch my first Barbel, mission accomplished the weight 6lbs, I was over the moon. It didn't last long as my son caught one that went 8lbs 4oz. Sod's law that your son catches one bigger than you.
The day was really good because on top of the Barbel, between us we had 24 Chub up to 4lb 12oz. Caught on pellet with feeder and straight lead and also on the waggler fishing pellet. I would say this fishery is well worth a visit considering it was our first and will be looking to come again.

Three chub - 1lb, 2.5lb, 4.5lb. One Barbel 5.3lb. Lost one Barbel. Standard halibut pellets. Lovely fishery really easy to find and the pegs are well kept with excellent access.

1 roving and 2 static fishing. Between the 3 of us and throughout the length of the beat we had perhaps 30 barbel to 9lb, and a dozen chub to 4lb. Hemp in the feeder with a mixture of hookbaits had the most effect. Totally different river to lower down yesterday. Lovely stretch - well worth a visit, recommended.
