Fished in front of second picnic table, meat corn and pellet on feeder, 4ft tail to size 14 with two pellet bands or a bait spike. 4 barbel, lost two more, 3 chub and 3 dace. Quite snaggy anywhere more than one third over due to lost braid/nylon from previous anglers but couldn't get a bite closer in. Moved to upstream end swim and trotted meat and corn close in for 14 more chub up to 3lb but mostly 12oz to 20oz, some good dace and a perch. Mind the tripwire 4 inches off the ground at the top of the bank in this peg. Short stretch but lovely and peaceful. An hour's work with a pole saw would would improve the middle swims no end. Would definitely fish here again as long as it was during a dry spell.

No fish hooked (missed a few). Didn’t explore as much of the beat as I should. Access to a lot of the river is very restricted due to the overgrowth.

A well looked after stretch, well done to the owner. Would be even better if the swims at the top of the stretch could be reopened which would allow you to fish the nearside gully.

The kind of day you expect here but return would have been higher if I had not bumped off half a dozen fish!!..It was steady all day with bites spread out over the day with the last hour producing the Barbel...Seems to be ongoing work here on the left hand bank which is appreciated and the beat has picked up this year with better catching...A flock of long tailed tits and a Kestrel hovering in the adjacent field provided some entertainment on a peaceful good day here again.

Definitely made the right decision to fish Courtfield on Sat 7th October. Fished the top meadow swim from 8am until sundown. Perfect conditions with a coloured and dropping river, and the barbel were having it all day long despite bright sunshine and a flotilla of canoes and paddleboarders. 14 landed, with at least 4 good sized fish between 9-10lbs (possibly 11lb, but left scales at home so unfortunately don't know exact weights). Also had a brace of chub. Groundbait feeder with 18mm boilies wrapped in paste doing the business - a proper red letter day! Already looking forward to the next trip, although this one's going to be hard to beat.
