On a low clear river with bright sunshine it was always going to be hard. A dozen chub between us all caught from the first field on feeder tactics early and late.

All fish taken on a variety of pellets and boilies, best chub 5 lb best barbel 7lb 4 oz, chub averaged 3lb barbel averaged 5lb , a good days fishing

Arrived at 4 for an evening session weather sunny with the odd cloud 6 chub in the space of 2 hours in the 1lb 8oz - 2lb bracket then a lull until 8 then 3 chub in quick succession 4lb 2oz, 4lb 5oz and 4lb 9oz all caught on groundbait feeder with meat on the hook.The other was an eel.

Another lovely day catching barbel agin today. However, as we were packing up at around 8pm we were approached by a rather hostile lady shining a very bright torch at us from the other bank. She stated that we should already have packed up and asked whether we knew the rules. We explained that we were packing up but she continued to illuminate us until we had finished. When we politely asked who she was, she said it didn't matter who she was as we are not from round here and weren't the landowners. She then said "off you go" and said we must remove our cars from by the lodge. As far as we are aware, the rules allow access to the water for 1 hour after sunset, which was at 7.33pm today.

Good day for all 4 anglers. We fished several beat areas of the river both using float and feeder tactics.

12 Barbel, 24 Chub, 10 Other

3 anglers fished, the Barbel were found down stream of the pump two fish over 8lbs, one at 6lbs and two at 3lbs, river all on feeders with sweet corn to hair rigged hook.

6lb 8oz barbel caught on halibut pellet fished with a feeder.

All 5 Chub caught ledgering. All caught on peperami or meaty pellets. Rained all morning river still clear but rising slightly.
First time coarse river fishing for both anglers. Very enjoyable day.
