A beautiful stretch. Mainly sunny, with modest (annoying) downstream breeze at times. Sporadic fly hatches during the day, bringing up occasional fish. All fish caught on dries, most by prospecting likely runs. Better fish showed late on.

Two brown trout caught, very windy difficult to fish upstream due to the wind, fish were rising but could not match what they were taking, had a good few missed takes as well. Cracking stretch, although i do feel they need to sort a better option for the parking, particularly if there are a few anglers fishing the beat as there is not enough room for parking. Cracking fishery though

A nice looking stretch of river, with easy access and relatively easy wading. However, although there were some mayfly and some olives hatching, there were no rising fish. I only fished for about one hour but did not get any takes, nor indeed see any fish.

With a cold downstream wind and river slightly coloured and swollen by the previous days rain I felt a bit out of my depth (no pun intended). By the middle of the afternoon there was a steady hatch that excited the Flycatchers but not the fish. Just one visible rise all day. When I resorted to fishing down and across with a couple of wets and a heavy nymph on the point I finally had some success. Two beautiful Brown Trout to the net, so I went away fully content. Just being on that beat is a privilege.

First time at this beat, and very lovely it is. Warm sunny day. River was very coloured - almost a washoff, so no chance of any dry fly action. I decided to persevere with nymphs.
