River seemed to have dropped a little but still plenty charging through. Fishing was slow in the morning so moved upstream to snare my only fish, a 6lb barbel on single 4mm ledgered halibut pellet.

Nice days fishing a few swims up from the car park. Not many bites, but all were landed. Averaged around seven pounds, with on at ten pound eight ounces. All in pristine condition.

Very nice we didn't have to rely on the farmer to get us to the river as was the case several years ago. Driving to the river was a real bonus. The usual swim opposite the old boat house didn't produce for us this trip and was more overgrown than usual indicating others have found the same. An Otter was spotted on the far bank which may be contributing to its poor form.
Always a spectacular scenic beat this one with lots of different character swims.

1 chub from bottom half of beat the rest were from near car park. Fish fought really well and went back strongly. Caught using open ended feeder using meat and pellets.
At the bottom of the beat five fence posts up from entrance there is a large clump of Japanese Knotweed on the bank that needs dealing with before it becomes out of hand!

A very quiet and peacful location. Be warned, the 300 yrd walk from the car park requires a climb up a very steep hill, travel as light as you can. The river had settled following storm Amy, however the water temperature had dropped and was around 10oC. Fishing could probably be more consistant if the temperature had been settled for a bit longer rather than dropping quickly, with the Barbel coming later in the day.
