Again gin clear but at least overcast. Worked really hard all day. Chub 5lb is, maybe a little over, looked battered as if it had not long spawned, heavy tail wear.
Barbel 8lb, mint condition.Fed pellet and meat all day, put plenty in caught both fish on meat using hook length about 4ft. Only two bites all day.
Beautiful stretch and have enjoyed 4 days but the fishing has been hard.

A difficult and disappointing day with nothing until late afternoon. Searched the whole of the best below the bridge with various methods but just very hard going. Water levels low.

Three anglers fishing this stretch for the first time. We have never caught so many Chub! Average size 2.5-3lb and biggest was just short of 6lb mainly on float fished meat and bonus Barbel as well on ledgered pellet. On the down side, there is a wasp’s nest on the path 3/4 of the way to the island and they don’t like anglers!! They will attack!

One fished and had a memorable day. Got the chub going on the drop and had well over 20 in a couple of hours. These included a new PB of 5.4lb, soon upstaged by his mate at 5.5lb! Stayed all day but was fairly quiet either side of the frantic 2 hour window. But still, catching 100lb of fish in a day is just brilliant. One thing to mention, there is now a large herd of cows grazing in the first two fields. They're quite intimidating, especially when on your own on this otherwise beautiful beat.

2 Barbel, 31 Chub
