Slow day trying to figure out how to approach this beat. Had a barbel first thing and struggled most of the day but wonderful weather and scenery helped. Got the stick out midday and managed 2 chub. Switch back to feeder when the bites dried. Last knockings got the stick back out and managed another 2 chub and a barbel. Had a fantastic weekend staying at the annex . Fished foy and how Capel. Right on your doorstep. Couldn't get a better location for these beats. Will be returned next year for sure.

Enjoyed my first trip to fish the Wye and was not disappointed on this picturesque stretch. Had 3 chub to 5lb and a barbel of similar size just before dusk.

All fish caught on feeder with meat. Fed pellet and hemp but all day very quiet. Caught one early morning and two later afternoon. Lovely spot and great weather. A lot of canoes with inexperienced people on board. Nearly got wiped out 7 times. I wonder if they are briefed on anglers using the river??
Parking in the wood could be better signed with designated bays as I wasn’t sure where to park without blocking the track. The sign at the top of the track that leads down to river wasn’t on display and laid in the grass. Luckily we spotted it. Lovely section of river.

Lovely stretch but as with previous comments there are very few fishable pegs. Not much option for roving and there is no path between the fields.
Started in the middle field but with an angler opposite in the first fishable peg options were limited. Found a nice glide over gravel along a tree line and stated trotting. Had 5 chub ranging from 2lb to 4lb. Decent stamp of fish coming sporadically, all on maggot.
Then set up the tip rod fishing feeder loaded with pellets and ground bait with meat on the hook. Had the first barbel after an hour, fishing above over hanging trees where a rocky outcrop on the far bank river bed to mid stream made a deeper channel on the inside. Nice fish, 6 1/2 ish. Followed an hour later by a 3lb chub. Last fish came at around 5pm, barbel at 8lb 2oz.
Lovely day, but good job I was by myself as would have struggled with more than one angler.
