A tough ish day for three of us but enjoyable as always. A few chub and 2 Barbel between us but our 4th angler had a great day trotting for Chub in shallow water. Numerous caught with the biggest a beautiful 5lb 8oz and a PB. He also had an 8lb 13oz Barbel to finish as the sun dropped off.
A great beat to fish with excellent access.

The last session of our six day visit to the Wye was a replay of previous days with fish reluctant to respond until late evening. Very low water levels meant we were somewhat precariously perched a fair way above the water as established swims were few and far between. Flocks of Canada geese noisily entertained us for the afternoon, all eventually taking flight as they went out to supper in the fields.

Good directions, and good vehicle access - got down to the far end of the beat across the fields in a non-4WD car with no problems on a dry day. Able to park right behind the swim, and easy to get down to the beach.
Fished beyond the bridge with 1 rod half-way down the beach, and 1 rod off the bottom of the beach.
Low, clear water. Mixture of trotting down and feeder, with most fish caught on float. 5 barbel, but all small.
30 chub, lots between 3lb and 5lb. 1 eel.
Lovely days fishing, with not too many canoes, walkers, or other interruptions, and the cows and horses behaved themselves. Would certainly return.

fished from dawn to lunch time with no fish in fact not a sign of a fish. The river is low but also a dirty brown colour. The swims were not clear as there was very few places to get suitable access's to the river. Certainty not a stretch for those who struggle to walk on uneven ground. And yes I know it is a wild river and that some scrambling is to be expected but still if the beat is for 6 anglers then it should be able to have six swims available. Parking is a issue also as the waterworks area that the directions point you towards has signs on the fence stating no parking due to health and safety issues. the alternative parking is not the greatest and the walk from the car parks is not for the faint hearted !!
