River so low we could walk across. No weed anywhere - the river is dying from pollution.

All barbel caught between 6pm and 7pm. Not many swims on the salmon hut side of the beat and didn't fancy the mountain climb !

River low and clear with weather hot and sunny. Tried various swims and tactics with the Barbel only appearing after the final cast so all in all a very disappointing day. Will hope for better upon our return on Friday. Thanks to DC for the rolling meat tuition.

Fished Lucky Stone area from first light and had Chub on feeder and pellet from the first cast until early afternoon when activity slowed, all barbel taken at dusk. Biggest chub 5lb and largest barbel 7lb 10oz.
A great days fishing.

A beautiful stretch of the Wye. Hot and sunny - water low. Had great fun trotting for chub on light gear. Biggest was upwards of 3lb caught on a halibut pellet casting back towards the bridge. Caught another decent one around 2.5lb trotting in the fast flow at the bottom of the stretch. Really good fun. Caught four more much smaller fish on a mix of trotting from various swims and feeder fishing. Trotting by far the more successful method. Didn’t seem like the barbel were about. Shared the stretch with a nice fella (Bill) who targeted barbel in the deep pool downstream but no bite and by the time we left (around 5pm) he’d switched to attempting to avoid a blank further up stream. Lovely way to spend a day.

Tough days fishing at Courtfield as the river level was very low. I think two Barbel were caught and one lost, all of us using pellet on the Feeder and Trotting in the afternoon. Have fished here before and had a great time shame the river was low but will book again

This section needs some serious work. Swims really un-fishable. A wasted day, 0 out of 10!!
