Three of us fished and caught 8 chub between us with the best about 4lb. Cold day and lots of mud, braved the walk up over the hill and caught six chub in the first field swims and another two at the top when we came back later in the day. Ben was on his first trip to the Wye and it was nice he caught his first ever chub after 7 hours fishing as he deserved one for the effort. A local angler we met who fishes there a lot recommended buying shoe crampons for the wye mud something I will be getting for next time

Walked whole stretch and tried lots of swims, river in good condition fairly clear and low for time of year but very cold. Caught the the chub early on towards the bottom of the stretch mainly on meat but no sign of any barbel.

A cold day! The lower section of the beat was un fishable, no access no way down to the water and too deep & fast for safety. We decided to look at the upper section after a tea & sandwich and were rewarded with a fish each of 1-1.25LB.

The storms have caused havoc with the banks trees down, and debris everywhere.

A few hours. Tricky to find slow enough water from the banks as river pushing through but managed to find all fish in part of one pool. Grayling 8-10 inches

A challenging day’s fishing with a cold start and river still with extra water in it from recent rain. Fished all day and managed 3 grayling and 6 oos trout, all small, on trotted red maggots. No sign of any larger fish but a lovely place to spend the day nevertheless.
