All fish came within an hour early afternoon. Barbel in absolutely mint condition. Packed it in at 17.00 with a smile on my face

We caught 6 Barbel to 7 1/2 lb & 28 Chub to 5lb 4oz.

Conditions looked good, but struggled to get a bite using different baits and tactics. Barbel came after switching from feeder to lead.

Moved five times. Catching Chub and Barbel from all swims. Best Barbel was 9.4lbs. All fish caught on 8mm and 14mm pellet.

A very good day here and River level excellent for catching opportunity…We would have possibly caught more but a Cormorant clearly quite oblivious to us spent a very productive time too after its targeted species in the early evening….All baits seemed to work and despite losing a fair amount of terminal tackle this venue provided once again a great days fishing.

Day 3 of our Wyefest 25, which included 2 non WUF waters.

River conditions were good with the gauge at RoW being about 1m and the river falling. The weather was much as forecast- grey with some showers, but perfectly acceptable.

The directions to the fishery were OK but the W3W location would have been better on the gate to the field and the sign being fixed to the fence. We elected to drive to the downstream car park and had a recce but had difficulty identifying the downstream end of the fishery. A sign would have helped.

We fished the picturesque swim immediately by the downstream car park and were on fish straight away. The best barbel being 9.5Lbs and a chub which must have been very close to 5Lbs.The hot bite only lasted an hour or so but a few more fish were picked up until mid afternoon , when we called it a day.

Another of the party went into our swim for the remainder of the day and was rewarded with a very good 8Lb 3oz barbel.

Most successful bait - Spam, spam , spam. Mix of swimfeeder and straight lead .

River flowing hard and rising - difficult days fishing with very limited swims due to the height of the river - all fish caught close in . 2 eels caught amongst the small chub and one barbel .
