Wow, first decent day in an age ..... it got up to 16 degrees in the Edw Valley this afternoon...... I bowled up at the Hergest beat at bang on half twelve , fished till half three.... lovely three hours .
Fish just starting to look up and target the olives although still not in their feed lanes yet ..... Managed six ....four of which were about six or seven inches, with two what I call proper Edw fish of eight or nine inches .....Great fun and olives were about from one in the afternoon .... Mainly prospective dry fly fishing using a tiny Para Greenwells .... only saw two rises the whole three hours.
Soooooo nice just being on this beat, although there was still a niggling downstream wind ..ggggrrrrr !!!! Such fun fishing the six foot two weight and tiny dries.... lovely stuff, after a few good days up in the Elan Valley with clients using the 9 foot 6 weight , it's a pleasure catching wild stream fish on this lilliputian rod ....cracking stuff! On another beat later in the week, and another client out up Claerwen early next week..... Happy days !! Home time, and a cold bottle of Rev.James.... sorted!!!
