River o.8 m and colour perfect. Three of us enjoyed the lovely flywater ,fished hard and even after six hours anticipated a take at any time. At this river height it is possible to fish from the top of Upper Rock, right through Rock and into the Chine. A stout wading stick advised . Was entertained by a 2lb chub which went back safely to join his mates. (Another take next cast probably a shoal of them).
Fished below the bridge later in the day, 0.8m is the optimum height for this section and the fly works beautifully off the steps. Found some steps lower down to the river just above the big oaks. There is a length of serviceable ledge to wade and and the fly swam around nicely under the cables where I have had a number of salmon in the past.. No luck today but saw one downstream. A very enjoyable day for the three of us. Once again thanks to the unfailingly helpful and generous Barry.

RIver up and coloured. Fished very well. BUT......very steep and slippy track to access the bank/car park - even though the track was covered in hard core our 4 wheel drive vehicle struggled to get back up the hill. Due to the poor access I would think twice about booking this stretch.

Nice days fishing at caradoc. Started on the beach however river humping through with rain earlier in the week. Opted to find some slower deeper water which proved effective with steady stream of chub throughout the day coming off spicy meat pellet and luncheon meat.
No barbel but a lovely day on a great stretch of river.

Wednesday Fished the top section of the section, 3oz Feeder with pellet and meat hookbaits. Caught a personal best 6lbs 2 Chub very pleased with that despite breaking my long landing net handle in the process. Also caught a smaller one at around 3 and a half pound. A two foot Eel which also took a liking to my meat baits was fortunately lip hooked and easily returned.
I found the swims at this top end a challenge to get to but more worryingly the steep banks and 5 foot drop to the river was always on my mind especially as the water is around 6 / 8 feet deep close in. Do not attempt to fish these swims without a seriously well pegged down rope sufficiently long to get you back up to safety, if it rains the banks are a cross between Ice skating and mountaineering..
