River down behind the rec in pontardawe, I had plenty of follows but no catches there. Too many people bringing their dogs to jump in the river when trying to fish.
River alongside the trebanos rfc rugby field did a couple hours down the river, nothing

Lovely to get back here , few changes nice to see the lock been redone . Very tricky conditions and a couple steep pegs didn’t help but nothing interested few takes on dry fly which luckily left the fly gear in , nothing on bait . Top swim footpath almost gone very narrow . Unfortunately other people fishing on opposite bank on dug out steps messed up my plans on fishing at very top of beat .

Coolest day of the week after a week of extreme heat warnings. River now very low which has really hinderd the Barbel movement with such low oxygen levels and high water temperatures the rivers are in real need of rainfall. Managed 4 Chub again around 3.5lb could of had more if I had shortened the hair and hook length, krill and Bloodworm dumbells doing the trick on the feeder. Will as ever return later in season.

Fished the evening from 4pm to dusk. Had a few chub but couldn’t tempt a barbel. Used feeder tactics with pallets and boillies. Really enjoyed being back on the Wye.

My first visit to this beat and as expected after the dry spell of weather the river level was very low.
The temperature had fallen significantly over night and I was hopeful the fish would be in a feeding mood but sadly this was not to be the case.
A mixture of feeder and float fishing were tried in a number of swims without success.......it was not to be my day.
This is a well maintained section with good parking and easy access along the bank although it would be sensible to bring a rope to safely reach some swims especially in wet weather.
No fish but an enjoyable day in a peaceful location along with the wildlife.

We were told off by the farmer for parking at the farm albeit this is referenced as the parking location on the permit info.
Also, wading was challenging on certain parts of the beat so for those that have not fished the stretch before wading guidance and pool guidance would be useful.
