Low flows, spooky fish, some big pools for big trout but not well connected - likely bigger fish moved out?

River low and clear.12 trout 7-12" all on Adams size 16, many more lost.

Fished in the early evening, mainly exploring the top of the beat up to the falls. Few fish rising: two 8" trout to a grey wulff.

A very hot day and only a few midges on the water. I fished a griffiths gnat to rising fish and caught 6. Mostly small, but the last one of the day was about 10".

River has cleared over night and the water is only very little colored. Most trout came to the nymph with the occasional rising to a mayfly pattern. Biggest fish was around 10" to 11".

River still running colored and only the occasional trout rising. Fished only 1,5h in the afternoon. The two small trout came to the nymph

Just been fishing a couple of hours in the evening. Lots of Mayflies on the water and fish chasing them.
Water is low and very clear. 4 trout between 6" and 9"caught .

Fished from 16.00 to 19.00. Nice weather, cloudy and sunny. Began at bottom of beat with usual para-adams. Lots of rises from tiny trout, 5 caught, 3/4 ins. ( not included in return). Noticed a few mayfly so put on a medium sized (14) grey wolf. ImmedIate effect as I got to the slightly slower pools about 200 yards up the beat. Missed several good fish but caught two x 10 ins and one lovely fish at 14 ins. Finished just beyond the end of the first field.

Nothing doing, principally because I became aware that there was a bull in the field and thought it best to beat a retreat.
