Ironically the low water level has made fishing Llwyn onn a far more comfortable experience! Good conditions early on and a hectic first half hour landing one and losing 2 fish. Things quietened down once the sun came up and a North westerly breeze got up. Fished on until mid afternoon landing a further 2 fish.

Day started badly, arrived to find someone fishing the spot I had put some bait into yesterday, fishing it from the gravel bar in the middle of the river accessed from the opposite bank. Phoned Wye and Ask when the office opened and thanks to prompt action from Alison and the estate office he was moved on about 10:30. Moved into where I had hoped to fish and had 8 Barbel in a mad 90mins at the end of the day. All on pellet/feeder/PVA bag. Interesting/strange - no sign of a chub today nor yesterday.

Lovely brook to fish, definitely need a short rod. Most activity was just up stream from the parking spot with a number of fish rising, caught a lovely 9-10cm trout. Some movement further up stream close to upper limit. Would definitely return to this spot.

Conditions good and a steady flow. Trotting the main flow for barbel but couldn’t get through the chub, however lost count of the chub I caught on the stick. Still a great days fishing with great surroundings. Will be back trotting for the barbel . 1 barbel on the stick worth 20 on the lead.
