Fine day. Some bites early morning nothing else all day

A lovely day in much more Spring-like conditions. Occasional trickle hatches of LDOs brought a few fish to the surface including two of 17” and 18”, both very angry to have been caught in a foot of water after being carefully stalked. The other fish were 14”13”12”12”12”, all caught on dry fly.

Only fished for a couple of hours early morning.

2 small brown trout on small gold head nymph

River very low and clear. Not much fly life throughout day. Landed two trout and lost one much larger. Wading/walking challenging at the bottom of the stretch.

Caught all 3 fish fly fishing and on an orange cats whisker lure

First time fishing this beat and indeed the Edw, pure escapism although no fish seen or caught will definitely be back, water level low and clear plenty of fly life
