Tried a heavy headed nymph and a few different wet flies such as Mallard & Claret, Greenwells Glory. River quite low.
First time on this beat- absolutely lovely despite no fish!

Beautiful sunny day but the river was higher than I expected and higher than the Usk catchment stream. Quite clear though. No hatches or rises seen. Trout took small hare's ear goldhead. two dead lambs lying on the bottom at one point upstream of the footbridge.

lovely evening - very bright to start with. Last fish was the best I have ever had from theses waters, natural brown trout -very healthy strong and fat. over 15 ins and probably over a pound in weight - took line out and gave a great fight. Cant believe I have this wild stream fishing on my doorstep.

River level very low - large parts of beat unfishable. All fish taken from fast deep pools/runs of which there weren't many!
Best fish was 15" the other five were between 6 & 9". All caught on weighted nymph.

Two hours evening fishing. Fish lying at bottom end of pools and fast water, big hatch but not great rise. Adams fly.-lovely easy accessible wading. Met local farmer-was really interested in the river and fishing. Best think I have done to buy the wild stream permit-
