River was much lower and slower today very good fishing

All on pellet and luncheon meat in the margins

Despite the river not being as high as yesterday, it was still pretty high but beginning to fine down. To my inexpert eye, it was right at the limit of fishable. More in hope than expectation I fished down the Rheld Flats as far as I could wade and also the Butts. I picked up a nice trout (1.5lb) on the Red Francis conehead but not sign of a salmon. I think the river will be at a good height tomorrow (Sunday) morning but a whole load more rain is due in the afternoon. Such is backend fishing! I also had a good chat with fellow angler David who was after trout with the streamer and had more persistence than me.

Not a bite all day on worm again . Power bait being used by a lot of anglers has spoilt the fishing will never be coming back the bailiffs need to be chucking anglers off the water for using it . This water is supposed to be worm,fly and spin

A hard day's fishing. Fished hair-rigged halibut pellets with heavy feeders in the receding torrent. Little activity. Fished five swims each from the lower to the upper sections. All fish caught in the shallower, faster water in the lower half of the beat.

River was up 2m with very strong flow which made fishing difficult . Only fished the afternoon but mamanaged to find the swims holding a few fish in the end . Large baits did the trick in the end.
