No fish today but really enjoyed it

Lovely venue, but very hard going. We spotted a few carp feeding by one of the dams, but they proved to be very wily! Would love to come back in the summer when they’re hopefully more obliging.

A reasonable day considering the conditions. Finding a swim to fish was challenging but had an enjoyable day nevertheless.

3 Barbel, 1 Chub

River running high and coloured. Fishing difficult ,holding bottom with debris a problem all day. Good stretch and access good though.

The rainbow trout was caught on worm at around 2.15pm. The bait was on a medium size bubble float with trace length of 1 metre. Weather conditions were a gentle breeze blowing, cool but with prolonged periods of sunshine. The fish weighed in at just under 2lbs. I had missed two bites before landing this fish, great day out.

The river was up by 3 ft and rising perfect conditions for the Barbel.
16 Barbel caught between 4 anglers all fish caught on feeder tactics great day had by all.
Thanks to Stephan for the work he's done on the venue making it easier for older people like me to get up and down the banks great stuff.
