Nothing caught very low water. Walked the beat saw one trout tried for an hour or so but was not worth fishing so decided to head home.

Very tricky wild beat. The water level was very low and unfortunately the bridge in Duhonw is out completely for 6 weeks, so instead of a 5 minute trip the other end of of the beat, its a 40 min car journey. Frustrating.

Not many rises throughout the day. Lovely beat though. Need some rain to raise the levels.

Basically a rekkie trip . Entered from the downstream end. Road access is good along the long strech but there are a few junctions where you have to make a decision. We are all senior citizens and found access to the waterside vert difficult. Maybe 1 swim at the bottom end by the island with a rope. Then a long stretch of sluggish water till you get to the suspension bridge where again you would need a rope to access the good looking swims there. We avoided the rope swing swing knowing what would happen when the walkers arrived. Many of them on a friday.
We settled at the top end because of easy steps downstream of the slalom course. We had 4 chub and 3 eels before leaving at lunchtime. Like to return but despite the ease of vehicular access the access to the river is a challenge. Left by the upstream gate - much easier.

Fished the woodland beats for an evening. Access ok but limited, difficult casting with tree canopy so close. 2 eels sum of the efforts. Kingfisher flying past and salmon jumping being the highlights....

A quiet start at the bottom end of the beat with a few fish rising, some takes, but nothing caught. Three fish caught early pm at the start of the flats just over half way up the beat, then nothing for a couple of hours. The remainder caught late afternoon, again in the flats. All fish caught on emergers.
Only the first 30 meteres or so of the flats are fishable, the remainder being inaccessible due to excessive undergrowth. In short, only just over half of the beat can be fished.

River in reasonable order. Caught the fish on a GRQ, Black Pennell and Greenwell's Glory and dry sedges towards the end of the evening.
