One small chub just under a 1 lb and a lovely 4 1/2lb chub from the boat pool, caught on ledgered sweetcorn using a mk 1V Avon split cane rod, the fish were pristine very clean and healthy, a wonderful few hours fishing, many thanks.

Fished the lower part of the beat c. 800 metres upstream from Hergest Bridge. Significantly easier than Hergest Court and Titley beats fished previously as overhanging trees rather less dense. However probably less than 50% of this beat is actually fishable, which is a pity as there are some great pools heavily overhung. I like to think that I am a competent fly caster but side casts, roll casts and even the "bow and arrow" approach proved impracticable. Sparse hatch of olives; numerous midges visible and a few rises. River effectively blocked by two large fallen trees below the Gladestry Brook.

Other was a small artic char - very distinctive markings and safely returned to grow bigger.
Great half day at Dulyn. Good walk in but having not been before, I chose to wear waders in case it had shallow areas! Don't wear waders, its a deep Llyn with quick drop offs so rock hopping around the edge is the order of the day. Some excellent fish, mainly from the area near to the waterfall. Much deeper so used a pink grayling pattern weighted point fly and this took most of the bigger trout. Still one or 2 to the bibio on top dropper. 3 fly leader, 18 ft so the point fly was going a long way down. Small artic char on a razzle dazzle cruncher (don't ask) but it was a very bright and sunny day so the fish were lower down in the water. Really enjoyed it and well worth the walk

Hi, I had an early start, starting on the lower beat with plenty of Brownies showing, after breakfast I went along the woodland on the upper beat with trout showing and 4 large Browns feeding towards the end of the beat. Then down to the middle with Brownies showing all along.
This is a lovely beat with something for every one to enjoy.
Thank you
Nigel

Hard work today. Just one take on the nymph (and shaken off) and no rising fish (other than tiny graylets). I don'r recall seeing such low water levels in June
