Evening session . One barbel 6lb 14oz. Track down to the river is quite steep and uneven, didn't enjoy getting the car back up it. Would prefer somewhere to park at the top and then walk down through the field rather than having to take the car down through it.

Slow stretch of river but had an enjoyable day on the stick float with plenty of smaller fish and a few chub to about the three pound mark.

4 Chub up to 6lb and just the 1 barbel from the island at the furthest point downstream. Both my girlfriend and I loved our first proper session at Home fishery and will most certainly be coming back. All caught on a swim feeder and pellet

Arrived at 6am. First time here, lovely parking area. The river was low and fast and sparkling, looked amazing. Perfect beat to get my new Vision waders out. Access was excellent down to the river and along the rocks. Really beautiful peaceful place, plenty of bird life too. Spent a splendid day stood in the river at various sections, moving around. Caught fish all day on float fished meat but most caught on rolled flavoured meat. Super method when low and clear stood in the river. Carefully handlined all the fish without lifting from water, holding them to recover and off they went. Biggest Barbel around 7lb and Chub to 5lb. Canoe traffic was not a problem and everyone was polite, great to see the youngsters back doing their adventures. Cracking day to kick start the new season off. Thanks WUF for access to a truly picturesque venue.

Lots of chub around and whilst I saw some barbel, they weren't interested in what I had to offer. The other was a decent brownie which liked my float fished pellet.

River quite low but reasonable flow. Weather cool and drizzly. Started fishing late afternoon and caught a few chub on pellet and meat up to around 3 pounds or so, together with an eel. Swim then went quiet and no sign of barbel and I was just thinking of packing up soon after 9 o'clock when my rod was almost pulled out of its rest by a very obvious barbel bite. The fish put up great resistance. It was clearly worth weighing so after unhooking was rested in the net while I got out scales and sling. As I raised the net to weigh it the net snapped at the joint with the handle! (Not a cheap one either). Fortunately I was able to grab the netting before it and the barbel disappeared down the river. It went exactly 8 1/2 lbs on the scales and was returned for another rest before safe release. I was very wet and muddy after all the excitement and decided to call it a day.
