I went down on an evening ticket and took a rod down for the dries , hoping for some spinner or sedge action. No joy though!
The river level was quite decent though ( fished the rhayader aa water above town the day before and it was astonishingly low!!) and the water was very cold. I guess they where running some water off the Elan reservoirs?
Lovely as ever though down there , an enjoyable evening out.
Advise a wading staff now if fishing the boulder strewn runs!

Never had a knock all day despite the occasional fish showing. Tried various lakes

Warm sultry evening with plenty of surface activity. 2 BT caught & released on Small BWO.

Lovely lake and conditions at Llyn Frongoch. 1st fish of the evening was a Rudd, caught on small CDC dry fly.
2 rainbows hooked on plain goldhead black tadpole lure, fished slow. Larger one taken, weight estimate 3lbs. Smaller escaped at net side. 1 last rainbow caught and released, late evening on dry emerger pattern.

Water as expected very low given conditions. Significant mayfly hatch, with march browns and olive duns.
1lb fish caught in the gloaming at upper beat in the ripple mid-stream.
