1 small brownie.... At this time of year. What was I playing at!? 3 hours fishing.... 6 hours sitting on the patio of the lodge soaking up the surroundings. £25 well spent in my opinion. Single fish fell to a mayfly pattern, but had a few tugs from others on nymphs. Fabulous fabulous day. Thank you so much Wye & Usk for making beats like this available.

Beautiful place, never fished the Edw before but didn't disappoint. Five trout of approximately 5-6 inches long.
Klinkhammer took 1st fish after small rises seen followed by 4 on a beaded black nymph pattern all around 11am in the bottom quarter of the beat in a steady flow. Short line nymphing no flyline necessary. Best to use an 8 foot or shorter rod. Bright sunshine throughout with hardly a breeze.

River with good flow and looking healthy. Fallen debris in places but nothing significant to cause concern.
River easily accessible although there is a barbed wire fence along side the river, be careful, wading is tricky with smooth boulders as slippery as ice on the bottom, a set of suds should be considered essential.

All in all, a stunning location and good fishing and good value.

Conditions seemed promising, but only one small trout to report. If I had managed to bring to the net a larger fish that I hooked briefly, it would have turned a disappointing day into a success!

Had a terrific days fly fishing on the Usk at Dinas. Both my partner & I were under the watchful eye of guide Oliver Burch & we were treated to an exceptional day. His patience & knowledge were 1st class & as complete novices he had a challenge on his hands. Terrific scenery, great company & we left very happy. Thank-you Oliver & Wye & Usk.
