Rising River but managed to catch 8 Barbel upto 9lb 5oz

We had a cracking day despite the weather. The conditions seemed good with the river rising. The first barbel was caught with the first cast of the day, we caught six more barbel after 15:30. 3 of them were around the 8lb mark. We will be back!

river very high sand coloured still managed a few bites between us.

The river was around 1.3 meters above normal level but not to coloured. 1 Barbel caught , not weighed but around 8lb. All Chub caught were small around 1lb. Dace were plentiful and could have been caught in large numbers on stick float tactics if so desired. Conditions were very wet but still a nice day to be out on the river.

Raining all day, heavily coloured water. 2 fish seen breaching, no takes. Thankfully not a single canoe or kayaker.
