First day out of the season. Bit chilly in the morning but warmed up later. Had some of the same issues as others reported with difficult access at the bottom end of the beat (steep bank sides) and the top end completely overgrown.
No rising fish for the first hour and no knocks or takes at all. Fish picked up around 1.30 with the warmer weather. Gave up on the dry flies and started using wet. Within 20minutes had hooked and landed a stunning PB wild brownie. At least 5lbs, possibly more. Had another pair of takes later but finished up happy soon after.

First time back this year, fished A470 side about 180 metres up from the dam took first fish on worm then second on a firefly spinner. Both fish in nice condition both about 1.5 pounds but not much fight in them. had bait stripped 4 times possibly by the crayfish annoying but kept me on my toes. A lovely day in beautiful scenery. Nice to have a chat with the Rangers too it’s been a while.
