We had planned to fish Doldowlod but a meteroric rise in river level overnight took the Rhayader gauge to over 3ft so washed off.
Syfydrin on the Aberystwyth ticket is always our fail safe in these circumstances - but it isn't the remote place it used to be! A group of campers with trials bikes and much less intrusive horse and bike riders were enjoying the scenery too...
Seems like the fish resented the intrusions as they were very finnicky. Only 3 between us on the usual twitched sedge tactic - little surface activity, and although I convinced 14 to rise only 4 were hooked and one came to hand. James managed to double that score! But a very enjoyable session none the less.

Only 1 angler fished. 1 small barbel, and 1 chub. Game fish coming through for much of the day, chasing fry and small fish. Seemed to affect the fishing detrimentally.

Fished the RH bank as the opposite bank fishing spots were difficult to access. Lost a couple of fish through poor angling. Plenty of bites/takes to keep you interested and confident all day. Enjoyed the day
