We were 2 coarse and 1 Salmon anglers. One of our group did not fish. The catch of 10 chub and 5 barbel fell to a mix of float and feeder tactics.

A very hard days fishing in a lovely location, as has been mentioned before there are a limited amount of swims -on the bit I walked I counted 5, 2 of them you would either need someone with you to make access easier or a rope to to help you out. We had a small amount of rain while there and the swims did become extremely slippery. Fish caught just below where you park using pellets and feeders.

Tough day, but beautiful location and stretch of the River Wye. The river was low and very clear and the fish did not seem to be there. Two of us targeted the Barbel in particular sticking to larger pellet, meat and bollies with the Barbel and larger Chub falling to 12/14mm pellets fished with a feeder.
One of us tried trotting in the afternoon for a few hours which produced some smaller Chub and some nice Dace, mostly on corn and flake. All of us fished the top section from the fishing hut to the boundary of the fishery.
I had a walk through the wooded section and looked downstream and was left thinking this area would have been more productive, but very tough fishing. Something for the more adventurous of you to consider before you start, and be prepared to travel light !

Great fishery. Catching came intermittently but really livened up towards evening. Mixed baits used but majority fell to halibut pellets.

Had a great day trying to fish a scalpin to see if it would catch one of the bigger trout.Wrong!! I have since been told by Johnathan Morris the great guide on the upper Wye that it only works in dirty water. At the end of my day I went downstream and caught a nice 1 and 1/2 pound grayling, great finish.

Well first time here , and in fact first time for donkeys that I've fished the Ithon . . . We re so spoilt for choice in and around Hetefordshire to be honest.

Arrived at the lay by about eleven , bimbled down to the start of the beat , conscious that it was described as only a short one , which was perfect for today , as i was pretty tired from some heavy duty garden jobs on the Sunday !!!!! River looked low but still some tantalising trouty pools on the way down, kept an eye on the cows with calves , although they seemed pretty placid !!!

Initially fished a tiny Para Greenwells , had first savage rise to it ,head of a pool , very aggressive and a nice Ithon brownie to hand , about eight inches , lovely spotty markings . . . Next was also on the Greenwells , then I changed to a fourteen Parachute Adam's and had very savage takes to that too , also interst from five inch parr drowning my fly eeeerrrrr !!!!! Some upwings about from midday , bringing the fish on , and some splashy rises too . . .

Worked my way slowly up , a very enjoyable two hours I must say , brought another six lovely brownies to hand , and also four Parr, so with eight crackers on this lovely stretch I was pleased to be honest , as initially looked pretty dour , but these Ithon brownies go like crazy when they're hooked !!!! So a really fun two hours and ten minutes to be precise, will head to this one again soon , cant see why it's not fished more really, as it's perfect dry fly water and although not ideal conditions , fish still keen too hammer a dry !!! Back soon to this super beat . . . . . . . . . . . .
