Great day, I asked for an accessible stretch of water suitable for a geriatric angler and Allyson chose very well for me! So many thanks to her. A windy day with the breeze blowing downstream so not ideal. I tried spiders and French Nymphing; the latter taking all my fish the best of which was a beautiful brown trout of a little over two pounds; fin perfect and feisty. All fish on a gold bead hares ear. Thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Saw nothing, touched nothing, it wasn't the greatest day for the catching fish part of fishing as it was a lovely early autumn bright day with low clear water, but it still beat staying in the office where I would have been looking at spreadsheets all afternoon.

Lovely day, water is low talking with a gentleman clearing the banks he reckons well over a meter below it’s normal level, I struggled with nymphs catching the bottom. A few rises through out the day and the three fish falling to dry flies.

Good river conditions. All fish caught on boillie or pellet. Full range of swims fished. Most fish caught late on. A beautiful stretch.

Fantastic spot and very impressed with the fishing hut and variety of fishing. Caught two brown on the Nymph. Rises in the afternoon looked like Grayling.

Yet another lovely day on the Wye, started in the salmon hut swim and caught 3 chub between 7am and 11am, biggest 3lb. Moved into the lucky stone swim and steadily caught 12 more chub and 3 barbel. Most chub 3 1/2 lb plus with biggest at 4lb 14oz and 2 barbel at 6lb and biggest at 8lb. Also lost 5 fish to mix of hook pulls and snags, one feeling like nice barbel.
Started on boilies and pellets but caught most fish on flavoured corn tipped with rubber bait on hair rig.
Kingfishers were prevalent and I will be back very soon.

Two anglers fished all day - usual pellet feeder method - river at summer levels
Canoe traffic modest
Following heavy rain shower and colder conditions fish switched off in the afternoon and evening

5 Barbel, 1 Chub, 1 Other
